Emily and Bill, an Indian Summer Wedding

Emily and Bill were married on a perfect autumn day in October. The weather was warm and beautiful for these country sweethearts. Glorious sunlight joined us for portraits.

The priest who officiated was a joy to listen to and provided an insightful, down-to-earth ceremony for Emily and Bill’s family and friends. His sermon referred to a quote by Mark Twain that says, “I can live for two months on a good compliment.” Marriage, the priest said, is a lifelong compliment, the best kind of you can give to a person. I love that philosophy.

The reception took place at The Barn at Ligonier, a lovely restored barn just outside of Ligonier, a little gem of a town in the Laurel Mountains.

Congrats to Emily and Bill! Thank you for inviting me to capture your day, I loved being part of it!

(Special thanks also to my photography assistant, Emily, for all her hard work!)
