Here is the exciting announcement I can finally reveal! The Emerging Artists Exhibit, sponsored by Stardust Photography and hosted by the McCarl Coverlet Gallery, will be held on May 15, a one-night event inviting young, local talent to shine.
I love the opportunity I have to meet high school students who have such great ambitions for the future. Many of the high school seniors I photograph are artistic or have appreciation for the arts, and they have inspired me to create the Emerging Artists Exhibit that showcases the work of high school students, grades 9 – 12.
I am proud to partner with the Foster and Muriel McCarl Coverlet Gallery, a nonprofit cultural organization in Latrobe that preserves and interprets the history of weaving and folk traditions of the American northeast. Located at Saint Vincent College in the Fred Rogers Conference Center on the first floor, the McCarl Coverlet Gallery houses the United States’ largest collection of historic coverlets, most from the mid to late Nineteenth Century, and has a gorgeous exhibit space where these woven works of art are on display. The McCarl Coverlet Gallery brings unique art of days gone by to our local community, and it is therefore the perfect place to host an exhibit featuring young artists with visions for the future.
Both the McCarl Gallery and Stardust Photography recognize that the fine arts are immensely valuable for student education and personal expression, and this exhibit was created to spotlight their talents.
We are all so excited to see great talent emerge!
If you are a high school artist – submit your wonderful creations to me by April 30!
If you love the arts – come enjoy an artistic evening with us at the McCarl Gallery on May 15!
Mark your calendar and show support to young artists in our community at the Emerging Artists Exhibit!
